In case you have not seen this, it's by a woman who lives on a small horse ranch in Western Colorado. She is married to a US Marine, her son, a US Marine, who survived Desert Storm & others, plus one USAF grandson, in her family tree, but evidently she is the only singer.

Okay, I have to share some verbiage on this momentous occasion. I am so excited and so depressed all at the same time. Let me explain just a little bit. I am so excited because my little girl (not so little anymore) has reached a pinnacle of success in her young life that I was too ignorant to follow through on. She has surpassed me in this area in her life and I continue to pray that she surpasses me in many other areas of life as well. She is beginning a new stage in her life and the world is her oyster, as the saying goes. Hope she doesn't get sick on it :) Our relationship will be changing into something more than what it has been for so many years and our conversations will be more like friends than parent/child. Luckily this has been slowly changing to this type of relationship anyway, as she has been maturing beyond her years and continues to do so. I am really looking forward to how God is going to use her to guide and lead younger children. I'm looking forward to her...

Rob's 40th Birthday Party

It's been a long while since my last post. Lots of things always going on & really don't have an excuse other than I don't lead an exciting life. Starting the month of October I started working on my husband's 40th birthday party. Boy, am I glad that's over with! Note to self: NEVER plan a party the week of Thanksgiving! I spent the entire week with his mom helping with Thanksgiving dinner that was gone in 45 minutes! What a blessed life I have!! I love doing parties, especially for those I hold very dear! I spent many hours making an 1972 timeline, 40 years worth of pictures to make a slide show, decorations, food, & a good bit of money! It took 2 months of me saving up my "blow money" to help pay for his party. So thankful that Rob's parents helped pay for some of it, I honestly wouldn't have been able to do it alone. Taking Down the Bird Feeder

T his is the best analogy yet! Leave it to Maxine to come up with a solution for the mess that America is now in economically. I bought a bird feeder. I hung It on my back porch and filled It with seed. What a beauty of A bird feeder it was, as I filled it Lovingly with seed. Within a a week we had hundreds of birds Taking advantage of the Continuous flow of free and Easily accessible food. But then the birds started Building nests in the boards Of the patio, above the table, And next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was Everywhere: on the patio tile, The chairs, the table .. Everywhere! Then some of the birds Turned mean. They would Dive bomb me and try to Peck me even though I had Fed them out of my own Pocket. And others birds were Boisterous and loud.
